The Journal of Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Safety is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts. All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software before and during the peer review process.

Plagiarism Detection

The journal uses plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin and other similarity checking systems to evaluate the originality of submitted manuscripts. This process helps identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, and improper citation.

Similarity Threshold

  • Manuscripts must have a similarity index of less than 20% overall.
  • Similarity from a single source should not exceed 5%, excluding references and commonly used phrases.
  • Properly cited quotations and references are excluded from plagiarism assessment.

Types of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text without proper citation
  • Paraphrasing without proper attribution
  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Using data, figures, or ideas without acknowledgment

Actions for Detected Plagiarism

  • If plagiarism is detected before peer review, the manuscript may be rejected immediately.
  • If plagiarism is detected during peer review, the review process will be suspended.
  • If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be corrected or retracted.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and proper citation of all sources. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.
