Correction and Retraction

Correction and Retraction Policy

The Journal of Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Safety is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical issues are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate action, including corrections, retractions, or other necessary notices.

Correction (Erratum and Corrigendum)

A correction may be issued when an error is identified that does not invalidate the overall findings of the article. Corrections may include:

  • Typographical errors that affect interpretation
  • Errors in author names, affiliations, or contact information
  • Minor errors in data, figures, or tables that do not affect conclusions

The corrected version will be clearly identified, and a correction notice will be published and linked to the original article.

Retraction

A retraction may be issued when there is clear evidence that the published article contains serious errors or ethical violations, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate publication
  • Unethical research practices
  • Major errors that invalidate the conclusions

The retracted article will remain accessible on the journal website but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to maintain the scholarly record.

Retraction Process

  • The Editor-in-Chief will investigate suspected issues.
  • Authors will be given an opportunity to respond.
  • The journal may consult reviewers, editorial board members, or the author's institution.
  • If necessary, a formal retraction notice will be published.

Transparency and Integrity

Correction and retraction notices will be clearly linked to the original article and made freely accessible to readers.

This policy ensures transparency and upholds the integrity of academic publishing.
