Peer Review Policy
Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Safety implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation of all submitted manuscripts. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned Editorial Board member to assess:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Compliance with submission guidelines
- Originality and scientific quality
- Methodological soundness
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in industrial hygiene, ergonomics, safety, or related disciplines. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic qualifications, and absence of conflicts of interest.
Double-Blind Review Process
In the double-blind review process:
- Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors
- Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers
- All identifying information is removed from the manuscript before review
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Scientific rigor and methodological validity
- Clarity of presentation and organization
- Validity of results and conclusions
- Relevance to industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and safety
Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers provide recommendations to the editor as follows:
- Accept Submission
- Revisions Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Decline Submission
Editorial Decision
The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer recommendations and editorial judgment. The Editor-in-Chief may assign additional reviewers if necessary.
Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts and review communications are treated as confidential. Reviewers must not disclose or use unpublished information for personal advantage.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest. Reviewers with conflicts must decline the review.
