Archiving Policy for the Journal of Teacher Well-Being (JTW)
The Journal of Teacher Well-Being (JTW) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. To safeguard against data loss and to maintain the integrity of academic records, the journal employs the following archiving strategies:
-
Digital Archiving with LOCKSS
JTW utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. This ensures that copies of all published articles are preserved and remain accessible in the event of any technical or operational issues with the journal's website. -
Institutional Repositories
Authors are encouraged to deposit copies of their published articles in institutional repositories. JTW supports the self-archiving of articles and allows authors to archive the final published version (PDF) of their articles in institutional or subject-based repositories immediately upon publication. -
Online Journal System (OJS) Backup
JTW uses the Open Journal System (OJS) for its online publishing platform, which has built-in mechanisms for periodic backups and archiving to prevent data loss. -
Indexing Services
All published content in JTW is indexed by major indexing services to ensure discoverability and long-term access through various databases. -
Permanent Identifiers (DOI)
Each article published in JTW is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which ensures that even if the location of the journal or the article changes, it remains accessible through the DOI system.
By adopting these archiving measures, the Journal of Teacher Well-Being ensures the preservation, discoverability, and accessibility of its published content for future generations.
