Artificial Intelligence Policy
The Journal of Marine Pharmacy and Biomedicine (JMPB) recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in research and scholarly communication.
Use of AI by Authors
Authors may use AI-assisted tools for:
- Language editing
- Grammar checking
- Formatting assistance
- Literature organization
Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted for publication.
AI tools must not be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, or originality of scholarly work.
When AI tools have been used substantially during manuscript preparation, authors should disclose their use in the manuscript.
Use of AI in Research
Any use of AI within the research methodology should be clearly described in sufficient detail to allow reproducibility and evaluation by reviewers and readers.
Use of AI by Reviewers
Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscript content to public AI platforms or services that may compromise confidentiality.
All reviewer responsibilities remain personal and cannot be delegated to AI systems.
Use of AI by Editors
Editors may utilize AI tools for administrative support, language assessment, or plagiarism detection. However, editorial decisions are made exclusively by human editors based on scientific merit and peer-review reports.
The journal reserves the right to revise this policy as AI technologies and international publishing standards continue to evolve.
