Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Constructive scientific debate and continuing evaluation of published research.

BEMO supports responsible post-publication discussion as an essential part of scientific progress. Published findings remain open to independent verification, methodological criticism, clarification, and constructive debate.

1. Scope

Post-publication discussion may address:

  • Mathematical assumptions, equations, and model formulation.
  • Analytical derivations, stability results, and mathematical proofs.
  • Numerical algorithms and computational reproducibility.
  • Parameter estimation, sensitivity analysis, and model validation.
  • Interpretation, limitations, and implications of published findings.
  • Potential errors affecting scientific reliability.

2. Submission of Comments

Readers may submit evidence-based comments, questions, or concerns through the journal's official editorial contact channel. Submissions should identify the article concerned and explain the issue with appropriate supporting references, calculations, data, or other evidence.

3. Editorial Moderation

The editorial team evaluates comments for scientific relevance, clarity, professionalism, and evidentiary support. Personal attacks, discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, and disclosure of confidential material are not acceptable.

4. Author Responses

Authors may be invited to respond to substantive comments. Where necessary, the editor may request independent expert evaluation of disputed scientific issues.

5. Public Scholarly Dialogue

Where editorial and publishing mechanisms permit, BEMO may publish appropriate scholarly comments and author responses as correspondence, commentary, or linked editorial notices. The journal may also consider substantiated concerns raised through established external scholarly discussion platforms.

Publication of submitted commentary is subject to editorial assessment and is not guaranteed.

6. Correction of the Scholarly Record

Where discussion identifies a significant error or potential integrity concern, the matter may be handled under the journal's Correction and Retraction Policy or Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy.

Scientific disagreement does not, by itself, establish misconduct.

Scholarly Principle: Open, respectful, and evidence-based criticism contributes to scientific reliability and reproducibility.
