Revenue Sources

The Journal of Community Development Diversity (JCDD) operates as a non-profit, Diamond Open Access journal. Our core principle is to remove financial barriers for both authors and readers. Therefore, we do not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or subscription fees.

To ensure sustainable operations and maintain high-quality, free publishing services, JCDD relies on the following sources of support:

1. Institutional Sponsorship and Subsidies

  • Primary Hosting Institution: JCDD receives direct financial and infrastructural support from its host institution, [Nama Institusi/Universitas Anda]. This support typically covers essential costs such as server hosting, platform licensing (e.g., OJS), and basic administrative overhead.

  • Faculty or Departmental Support: Associated academic departments or faculties may provide dedicated funding for editorial honoraria, copyediting, or special issues.

2. Grants and Project Funding

  • The journal actively seeks and applies for research dissemination grants from national and international funding bodies that support open-access publishing and community-based research.

  • Examples include grants from ministries of education/research, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) focused on development, and philanthropic foundations aligned with our scope.

3. Partnerships and Collaborative Support

  • Institutional Memberships: We may establish partnership agreements with other universities, research centers, or libraries that benefit from the journal's content. These partners may provide annual support fees.

  • Society/Association Affiliation: If affiliated with a professional society, a portion of society membership dues may be allocated to support the journal's operations.

4. Advertising and Sponsorships (Strictly Limited & Ethical)

  • JCDD may accept discreet, scholarly-relevant advertising (e.g., for academic conferences, book launches, or research tools) on its website.

  • Any advertising is subject to strict editorial guidelines to ensure it does not interfere with content, is clearly distinguishable from it, and is appropriate for an academic audience. Advertising revenue is not a primary income source.

5. Donations

  • The journal may accept voluntary donations from individuals, organizations, or alumni who wish to support its mission of open and equitable knowledge dissemination in community development. Such donations will be acknowledged appropriately unless anonymity is requested.

Financial Transparency and Use of Funds

All revenue generated is reinvested directly into the journal's operations to cover costs such as:

  • Technical Infrastructure: Website maintenance, security, and preservation systems (LOCKSS/CLOCKSS).

  • Production Services: Professional copyediting, layout, and DOI registration.

  • Editorial Support: Potential honoraria for managing editors or technical staff.

  • Promotion and Indexing: Costs associated with applying for and maintaining indexation in major databases.

JCDD is committed to financial transparency. An overview of funding sources and major expenditures may be published annually or made available to the editorial board and sponsoring institution.

Our Commitment: Our funding model is designed to align with our values of equity, inclusivity, and academic integrity. By relying on institutional and grant-based support, we ensure that the ability to publish or access research is based on scholarly merit, not financial capacity.
