Deposit Policy
The Journal of Community Development Diversity (JCDD) proactively ensures the broadest possible dissemination and security of its published research by systematically depositing article metadata and full-text content into trusted third-party repositories and indexing services. This policy outlines our commitments and automated processes for content deposit.
1. Mandatory and Automated Deposits
JCDD is committed to automatic, regular deposits to key national and developing international preservation systems.
-
National Scientific Repository (Mandatory):
-
GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital): JCDD performs full compliance with the national mandate. The complete metadata and full-text PDF of every published article are automatically harvested and deposited into the GARUDA portal managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). This ensures the journal's contribution to Indonesia's collective scientific record.
-
-
Global Preservation Networks (In Process / Target):
-
Crossref: Upon publication, complete metadata for each article (including authors, abstract, citation, ORCID iD, and license information) is deposited with Crossref. This enables global citation tracking, DOI resolution, and discovery through Crossref's extensive network.
-
LOCKSS/CLOCKSS Network: As part of our archiving setup, JCDD will enable automated metadata harvesting by the LOCKSS/CLOCKSS system via a dedicated manifest page, allowing participating libraries worldwide to collect and preserve our content.
-
2. Deposit for Enhanced Discovery and Indexing
To maximize the discoverability of our authors' work, JCDD deposits metadata with major scholarly discovery services.
-
Google Scholar: Metadata for all articles is optimized and made available for indexing by Google Scholar, ensuring high visibility in the most widely used academic search engine.
-
Dimensions & Other Aggregators: Metadata is structured to be easily harvested by platforms like Dimensions, BASE, and other open-access aggregators to increase the article's reach across various research discovery tools.
3. Author Support for Repository Deposit (Secondary Deposit)
JCDD strongly supports and facilitates the rights of authors to self-deposit their work, in accordance with our Open Access and Archiving Policies.
-
Permission: Authors retain copyright and are explicitly permitted and encouraged to deposit the Published Version (Version of Record - VoR) of their article in any of the following, immediately upon publication:
-
Institutional Repository (e.g., their university's digital library).
-
Subject-Specific Repository (e.g., SSRN, arXiv, Zenodo, etc., where relevant).
-
Personal or professional websites.
-
-
Recommended Citation: For any deposit, authors must include the full citation and a link to the article's permanent DOI on the JCDD website.
-
No Action Required from Authors for Primary Deposits: The deposits listed in Sections 1 and 2 of this policy are handled automatically by the JCDD editorial staff. Authors do not need to take any action for these mandatory deposits to occur.
4. Technical Implementation
-
OAI-PMH Compliance: Our journal platform (OJS) is configured to be OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) compliant. This allows repositories like Garuda and others to automatically harvest our metadata efficiently.
-
Scheduled Harvesting: We coordinate harvesting schedules with partner repositories to ensure timely updates.
Summary: JCDD's deposit policy ensures that every article is not only published on our website but is also systematically distributed and preserved across multiple, geographically dispersed networks. This layered approach guarantees resilience, permanent access, and maximum academic impact for the research we publish.
