Publication Ethics and Misconduct

Washatiyah: Journal of Political Islam and Society is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics.

Editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to comply with ethical standards that include:

  • Originality of Research
  • Transparency and Accountability
  • Confidentiality
  • Fair and Objective Evaluation
  • Responsible Research Conduct

The journal does not tolerate any form of publication misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism
  • Self-plagiarism
  • Data fabrication
  • Data falsification
  • Duplicate or redundant publication
  • Citation manipulation
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Improper authorship attribution

When allegations of misconduct arise, the editorial team will investigate the matter following COPE recommendations and established editorial procedures. Depending on the severity of the case, actions may include manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, article retraction, notification to the author's institution, or other appropriate measures.

All parties involved in the publication process are expected to contribute to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
